Social Work Services
Our school social workers are licensed professionals who provide a variety of services to students, families, schools, and the community. Working with other school staff and outside agencies, the school social worker intervenes to identify and eliminate barriers to students’ academic achievement and their healthy social-emotional development. School Social Workers provide both direct and indirect services to help students achieve maximum benefit from educational experiences.
Summary of Responsibilities:

School district liaison to homeless students and their families

Foster care liaison for all students in foster care

Provide supports to families experiencing difficulty with student school attendance

Monitor students’ attendance and attend court proceedings on attendance issues

Link families and community agencies and social service providers
-
School district liaison for mandated reporting (concerns of suspected child abuse/neglect)

Provides supports to students, families and schools in crisis situations
-
Conducts investigations to ensure that students reside within the Eastern Lancaster County School District

Counseling supports provided at the student or parents request
