NOTICE
EASTERN LANCASTER COUNTY SCHOOL DISTRICT
SCHOOL BOARD VACANCY
Effective February 24, 2026, one (1) vacancy exists on the Board of School Directors of the Eastern Lancaster County School District. In accordance with the School Laws of Pennsylvania, the remaining members of the Board intend to fill the vacancy at a public meeting within thirty (30) days. The appointed individual will serve until Monday, December 6, 2027.
In addition to being a current resident of the District, Section 322 of the Public School Code of 1949 as amended limits eligibility to: "Any citizen of this Commonwealth, having a good moral character, being eighteen (18) years of age or upwards, and having been a resident of the district for at least one (1) year, prior to the date of his election or appointment." There are further limitations relating to those who hold other government offices or positions in the School District.
Eligible individuals interested in this vacant office should submit a completed application as well as a Statement of Financial Interest form as required by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, both forms are linked at the bottom of this notice. These documents must be received (mailed or hand carried) by 3:00 p.m., on Friday, March 6, 2026, addressed to the Eastern Lancaster County School District Board of School Directors, C/O Board Secretary, 669 East Main St., PO Box 609, New Holland, PA 17557. The letter of interest must include the applicant’s address, contact information, and a statement of the reason(s) why the applicant desires to serve as a school director.
Eligible candidate(s) will be interviewed in a public meeting to be held on the evening of Monday, March 16, 2026. The meeting will be held at the Garden Spot Campus in Community Hall, 669 East Main St., New Holland, PA 17557.

The Eastern Lancaster County School Board meetings are held at 7:00 PM in Community Hall at Garden Spot High School/Middle School Complex, 669 East Main Street, New Holland, PA. The meeting will also be streamed virtually via live feed.

Public Comments
The Board encourages citizens of the district to come before the Board to present their petitions, inquiries, or other communications of interest. The Board invites public (Citizens of the District) comment on any topic that is within the Board’s jurisdiction. As outlined in Board Policy 903, the Board requires that public participants be residents or taxpayers of this district or nonresidents, whose children attend District schools pursuant to an agreement entered into between the District and another School District.
Public comment will be accepted until the meeting is called to order.
