Snopkowski Appointed as New Superintendent for the
Eastern Lancaster County School District

New Holland, PA (December 6, 2021): At the Eastern Lancaster County School District (ELANCO) Board Meeting on December 6, 2021, the Board of School Directors (Board) voted to appoint Dr. Michael Snopkowski (Oxford, PA) as the new Superintendent of Schools, effective February 28, 2022.

The ELANCO Board selected Dr. Snopkowski following a comprehensive search, as well as seeking input from staff, parents, and the community.

Dr. Snopkowski is currently serving as Assistant Superintendent at Avon Grove School District (West Grove, PA) where he has worked since 2005, during which time he has served as Director of Secondary Teaching and Learning, Principal, and Assistant Principal. Prior to working at Avon Grove, he also worked at Penncrest High School (Media, PA) as an Assistant Principal and Athletic Director.

Dr. Snopkowski has a doctorate in Educational Leadership: Administration and Policy from the University of Delaware, a master’s degree in Sports and Athletic Administration from West Chester University, and a bachelor’s degree in Education and Business Administration from Ohio University.

Dr. Snopkowski comes to us with extensive experience and a commitment to education. We look forward to his leadership of the ELANCO family.”

Dr. Snopkowski will officially join the ELANCO staff on February 28. 2022.
