Kindergarten Eligibility

A child is eligible for admission to Kindergarten if she/he has attained the age of five (5) years before September 1st.

The Board may admit to Kindergarten a child who is below entry age but demonstrates readiness for entry by September 1st, upon the written request of the parent/guardian, recommendation of the district psychologist, and approval of the Superintendent. (ELANCO School Board, Admission of Students § 201.2)

Kindergarten Registration:
 
May Kindergarten Registration has been cancelled due to Covid-19.  Updated information on how registration will proceed for the upcoming year will be posted when it becomes available.  ELANCO Online Registration Portal, (see below) must be completed before any registration can be completed. 
 
Preregister Online

In order to have everything ready for you at your appointment, you will need to complete our preregistration process online by clicking on the link below, the ELANCO Registration Portal,The preregistration process should take approximately 20 minutes to complete. Please complete your online registration 48 hours before your appointment so the information has time to sync with our system. 
 
Go to elanco.org, click on Programs, (3rd tab), click on Kindergarten Information, when page pops us, go to blue box with gray header, click on 2nd item -  Kindergarten Registration Portal.  Assign yourself a username and password (please write down and keep) complete information, on last page please scroll to the bottom and make sure you submit or click on done to release the information. 

At Your Scheduled Appointment

 The registration process will take approximately 60 minutes. In order to complete registration, you will need to bring with you ALL of the documents listed below. We will make copies of the original documents and return them to you. Please refer to the related files and links below to obtain forms or additional information for the registration process.
 
  • Your child's birth certificate
  • Your child's immunization record*
  • Proof of residency (utility bill, lease agreement)
  • Custody Agreement, if applicable, or notarized affidavit of guardianship, if applicable
 
The Physical Form and the Dentist Form need to be completed prior to the first day of school. If you have them completed by registration, you can bring them with you and they will be kept with your student's record.
 
* The Pennsylvania Department of Health regulations require all children enrolling for the first time to have the following immunizations before starting school:
  • DPT Vaccine -  1 dose administered after the 4th birthday
  • Polio Vaccine - 1 dose administered after 4th birthday and at least 6 months after previous dose
  • Measles, Mumps and Rubella (German Measles) Vaccine - 1st dose administered after 12 months of age 
  • Hepatitis B Vaccine - Dose 2 must be a minimum of 28 days after the 1st dose, Dose 3 must be a minimum of 2 months after the 2nd dose and after age 6 months.                                                                  
  • Varicella (Chicken Pox) Immunity - Vaccine given after 12 months of age ; or date or age of chicken pox illness.
