Internship
Internship is a planned, supervised experiential learning experience coupled with rotation periods of work observation and work exploration in a variety of employment situations. These experiences are primarily intended to develop career awareness rather than occupational competence. The primary purpose of our intern program is to focus upon a career and to aid students in developing a major in post-secondary education.
Intern students spend one or two hours per day in a local business. Intern students will be evaluated by their business sponsors. Interns do not get paid. Intern students receive elective credit for their participation - up to two credits per year.
Intern students are required to complete the following
- An Interview: the student must select a person in their career area and conduct a personal interview.
- Classroom Presentation: each student must make arrangemens with a freshman Business Education 9 teacher to present information on the internship program.
- Career Research Paper: each student will be required to complete a career research paper.
- Letter of Application / Resume: each student will write a letter of application and a resume. Examples will be given to serve as a guide along with a video on resume writing.
